Back to Tutbury again this week with Jo & Jeff for their elegant wedding at Tutbury Castle. We started the day at the Ye Olde Dog & Partridge one of the more popular locations for brides to get ready at in the area and one I have been to many times before. Then off to Tutbury Castle for the ceremony. The castle makes a wonderful backdrop for a wedding and as Jo & Jeff married quite late in the day they had the whole place to themselves. The castle has a huge marquee for the reception and as you look through the windows it really makes you feel like you are in part of the castle. The colour scheme was purple and white with huge white lilies everywhere from the bridal bouquet to button holes to the table decorations in the marquee.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding hope you have a great honeymoon. Your gallery is now Live, Enjoy!
Take care,
Simon
What a day with Nicola & Scott, you really could not have asked for more. I joined Nicola in the morning at the hairdressers just up the high street in Tutbury from where Nicola and the girls where getting ready at the Ye Olde Dog & Partridge a really popular place for brides to get ready in Tutbury and one I have been to many times before. After a while with the Ladies I met up with the Lads in the local pub next to the Church, St.Modwens in Burton-upon-Trent. St Modwens is a stunning church, a real jem almost hidden right in the centre of Burton. Nicola arrived at the Church in a vintage VW camper, I could have quite happily run off with it! After the ceremony we went to The Winery which backs on to the church grounds and once the connecting gate was opened we could all just walk from on to the other.
Both Nicola & Scott love gardening and have an allotment where they grow tonnes of stuff, far too much for me to remember but that’s where the theme of the wedding came from. A bit of a country feel with so many wild flowers and beautiful sunflowers everywhere. From bouquet to table decorations. A friend of Nicola & Scott that lives in New Zealand gave them the inspiration the their table names and decorations. unfortunately they could not make it over for the wedding but sent them a gift of a wooden vegetable planter with Nicola & Scott on one side and the date of the wedding on the other. After being filled with sunflowers and wild flowers it took centre place on the top tabel and Nicola had some more made up with the table names on for the rest of the tables. They looked great and so colourful! The rest of the evening was spent in the marquee at The Winery right through till the end, a great band help everyone dance the night away. A great end to a fab day.
Thank you to both of you for letting me be a part of your day,
Take care,
Simon
A great wedding at The Old Rose & Crown in the stunning Lickey Hills in Bromsgrove just outside Birmingham for Leah & Gareth. I was lucky enough to cover the wedding of one of their friends last year on a lovely bright day at Davenport House and this Saturday in April was no different with stunning light all day.
There was a really relaxed feel to the whole wedding day and in such a great location it is no wonder really just what Leah & Gareth wanted. With lots of great details on the day like a handmade box for the wedding cards and a great sweet table filled with almost every kind of sweets you can think of! I noticed on the wall of Leah & Gareth’s wall at their home they had to plaques above their chairs one with King and the other with Queen on so when I saw the No Parking sign on the garage door I really could not resist!
To cap it off at the reception Gareth produced some personalised lollipops for the guests much to Leah’s surprise.
I had a really great time, thank you to both of you for letting me be a part of your wedding day.

Jo & Zac had there very own royal wedding on the 29th April at the stunning Fishmore Hall in Ludlow, a great location in Shropshire to be married. I arrived early as usual just before Jo arrived in the morning with a bottle of Champagne in her hand. Now that’s the way to start Bridal preparations!
One image that will live with me for a long time to come will be Jo’s Bridesmaids kneeling in the bath so they could use the huge mirror on the wall behind it! The ceremony was in the bright conservatory on the back of Fishmore Hall which really made the wedding feel like it was almost held in the garden and after relaxing in the gardens for a while it was time for the reception held in another room which held the number of guests perfectly giving it a very intimate feel.
Thanks to both Jo & Zac for allowing me to be a part of their special day, a royal wedding in its own right.
Take care,
Simon
Any photographer will tell you the most nerve wracking experience is when someone you have known for years asks you to cover their wedding. I don’t know why but it does but a little extra pressure on you no matter how many weddings you have covered before. This was one of those for me when Adele called and asked me that question, but I would not have missed it for the world! Adele & Keith had a lovely wedding at the Abbey Hotel & Golf Club in Redditch a great little exclusive venue I had not been to before. A fab ceremony was followed by a Sand Ceremony where Adele, Keith Leah & Jamie all took turns pouring a different coloured sand into a heart-shaped container to symbolise them all as one family a very sweet moment although Jamie did need a had being about eight months old!
Their wedding day I think was the hottest day we day in April and with the stunning weather we have had theat is saying something! So we shot the portraits after the wedding breakfast when it had cooled down a bit but as you can see from the brooding skies in the photos no sooner had we started than it started to thunder & lighting! Still with the background of the golf course we got some great shots.
Thank you again for letting me be a part of your wedding, I enjoyed every minute of it. Your gallery is now online so login and Enjoy!
