Party time!

A fantastic end to a fantastic day

After the first time I met Ceri & Alex I knew their wedding was going to be fun and nearly a year after we first met it was more fun than I could have imagined! I met with Ceri at her parents home to organised chaos but somehow everyone knew what they were doing. It was like watching a rehearsed ballet! The wedding took place in the beautiful St. John the Baptist Church in Berkswell. I have never seen a hair stylist at the Church before but I will never forget as soon as Ceri stepped out of the wedding car her hair stylist appeared to fix any last-minute hair issues unknown to Ceri, he even had cans of hairspray in the inside pockets of his suit jacket! How cool? Ceri didn’t know about it he just appeared! The ceremony was accompanied by the highly talented Amanda Whiting, the best harpist I have ever heard let alone worked with. Great to see you again Amanda hope it wont be as long till we work together again.

The ceremony went perfectly with a very touching reading from Serenity, Ceri & Alex’s daughter. Serenity you where perfection, well done! When all had been signed and blessed off we went to The Lake at Barston which is at the back of the West Midlands Golf & Country Club a superb backdrop for the wedding reception. Another fun surprise waited there as we were treated to Phase One steel band now that’s the way to kick off a party! It wasn’t long before Ceri’s Dad was having a go then Ceri herself and the bridesmaids which sounds like a band!

The rest of the evening went along the same way helped by the amazing Paul Martyn entertainer who got everything rocking as soon as he picked up the microphone. As the sun went down the party was in full swing. Thank you Ceri & Alek for letting me be a part of your wedding I had a great time!

I hope the rest of your lives together is as fun as your wedding, you wont go far wrong if it is! If you need anything you know where I am.

Take care,

Simon.

Marianne & Rupert arrive at The Old Vicarage

Marianne & Rupert

It was a really lovely day for Marianne & Rupert’s wedding at St.Columba’s Church in Finchfield Wolverhampton then on to one of my favorite local venues The Old Vicarage in Worfield, Bridgnorth. I met up with Marianne for getting ready shots at her Grandfathers house just down the road from the Church while Rupert met with the guests just up the road from the Church at the local Inn. Always a good idea to help calm a grooms nerves. After a lovely personal service at St.Columba’s it was off to The Old Vicarge where we were looked after as always by Sarah and her team.

I think Rupert finally managed to relax once the speeches and the first dance was over as he sat on the patio chatting with friends as the sunset.

Thank you to both of you for letting me be a part of your day and all the best wishes for your life together.

Take care,

Simon

The little details...

Bonnie & Richard go for a ride on a golf buggy!

You would never know we are in the middle of a golf course!

It was a pleasure to cover Bonnie & Richards wedding at St.Nicholas Church in Elmdon Park, Solihull. If you don’t know Elmdon Park its a fabulous park right next to the Land Rover factory in Solihull although when you are there you would never know. St.Nicholas Church is set right on the edge of the woodland in the park giving it a really lovely feel. I met Richard and “The Lads in Suits” as they arrived at the church and I must say Richard was very relaxed! Shortly after Bonnie arrived running only a few minutes fashionably late. After a great ceremony we walked straight over to the main grassed area on the park giving us a great backdrop and somewhere for everyone to congratulate Bonnie & Richard. Before leaving for the reception venue we had to have some portraits in the woodland. Thanks to Bonnie for carefull picking her way down the small paths through the trees!

The reception was at the Henley Golf & Country Club, Henley-in-Arden where they really looked after everyone. One of the best places for photos at the golf club just happens to be in the middle of the course so the management had already arranged when we arrived for Bonnie & Richard to have a golf buggy and follow us through the course to a small “oasis”. I think it was a highlight of Richards day as he sped along driving the cart over the greens! The room for the wedding breakfast was all decorated with shells and the tables where all named after beeches in Australia a place I know Bonnie & Richard are thinking of moving to. In all a great day that really reflected Bonnie & Richard personality. A great day.

Congratulations and all the best to you both where ever you end up here or in Oz, if you need anything just let me know. Don’t be strangers, Oz is only an email away :)

Take care,

Simon

Great speech from Kate's Dad...

and lovely words from Mark for Kate

Time to dance

Everybody dance now!

Great night

I had never been to The Redhouse Barns before and what a cracking venue! I met up with Kate while she was having her hair done by Cornelius her hairdresser. I must say it was very calm all through the bridal preparations with Kate’s son Evan playing trains on the floor! The wedding itself was help at the local church, St.Micheals in Stoke Prior. Its a gorgeous church in a really lovely setting you couldn’t as for more. Then back to The Redhouse Barns for the reception. One of the best things I think about The Redhouse Barns is when you come to have the bride & Grooms portraits you have use of the owners landscaped back garden. Well the words back garden do not really do it justice as its stunning. It’s a great place the bride & groom can just go to and chill out away from the hustle & bustle of the wedding. The weather held out all day and I even went home with a bit of a tan!

A great day in a fab location, one of favorite weddings for a while. Congratulations to the both of you and if you need anything you know where I am.

Take care,

Simon

Punch & Judy!

Madelaine loves Punch & Judy

First Dance

A stunning day with Madelaine and Chris for their wedding at Hornton Grange in Birmingham, a fabulous building that’s really tucked away. I will guarantee that most people that pass it everyday do not know it is there, I have passed it for years and never knew it was there! With only a small bit of rain the weather was great so everyone could enjoy the fab grounds around Hornton Grange.  The wedding was early in the day, 11am, so Madelaine & Chris had all day to relax with their guests and this really made the day feel just so much more chilled out with people just able to move around as they wanted.

A lot of thought was put into the day by Madelaine to help things flow between ceremony and the wedding breakfast and more importantly between the end of the meal and the evening reception starting ad guests arriving. They booked Chris Peskett a great close up magician who really impressed both me and the guests. Always with a new trick up his sleeve (Sorry Chris, couldn’t resist!) he really livened up the afternoon. Straight after Chris was booked another treat for both the kids and adults at the wedding a traditional Punch & Judy show! I have not seen one for ages and it was surprising how many kids had not but it was really great to watch. I don’t think anyone enjoyed it as much as Madelaine for who Punch & Judy I think must a guilty pleasure!

Afterwards a great live band, I really don’t think you can beat live music and I know that is something that both Madelaine & Chris both love. I left quite late with nearly everyone dancing the night away. A great end to a great day!

Thank you sooo much for letting me a part of your big day it was fantastic. Hope you had a great honeymoon and if you need anything you know where I am.

Take care,

Simon.

Becky & Paul’s engagement shoot at Coombe Abbey park

Becky & Paul

In the park...

Octopus tree

A bit different

Cute!

I had a great day out last week with Becky & Paul in the grounds of Coombe Abbey in Coventry. I’m covering their wedding in October but they wanted to get together and have a shoot so we can produce a signing board for them and just in case they needed an excuse it was Paul’s birthday! Happy Birthday Paul! It was really nice to have a break and go for a walk with these two and at various times we could hardly hold up for laughing so hard! They are a really funny couple. They even showed me their favorite tree they call the octopus tree which is a bit strange as its only got six “legs”!

Thanks for a great evening guys can’t wait to shoot your wedding! If you need anything you know where I am.

Take care,

Simon
